MSTR Law participated in the Greek business delegation for biomass and biogas that visited the Nuremberg area, from 30.5. to 02.06.2016, following the “Waste to Energy” congress. The latter had successfully taken place on 09.29.2015 in Thessaloniki with the participation of German companies, while MStR had participated with a presentation on the “legal framework for Bioenergy“. The journey was led by Georgios Theodorakis of the German-Greek Chamber of Commerce, Thessaloniki, which renders outstanding services for the support of RES energy in Greece since many years, while our stay there was organised by the consulting company “eclareon” under the leadership of Mrs. Lena Keller.
The journey included visits at biomass and biogas plants in Nuremberg and Munich as well as various technical presentations by representatives of companies and associations. We had the opportunity to acquire interesting information about the operation of the plants, as well as about the current and future energy policy trends in Germany. The delegation also visited the exhibition “Internationalen Fachmesse für Abwassertechnik” (IFAT) in Munich, where we were welcomed by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and visited the operations of five enterprises on the environmental field. In addition, we visited the Federal Ministry of Finance and Energy, where the delegation member Christos Zafeiris, specialist at biomass by the Centre for Renewable Energy (CRES), made a presentation regarding the developments on biomass and biogas in Greece.
Developments in Greece are very promising, given that there is a legal framework as well as significant untapped resources from the agriculture and waste management. MSTR Law advises and supports investments in biomass and biogas on funding issues, licencing procedures, company establishment, tax issues, concluding of contracts and cooperations and other relevant investment issues.
